OUR PRODUCTS
The facility will manufacture varieties of continental cheese for food service, retail and B2B customers.
There are strong advantages to the joint venture facility, as it utilises expertise from both organisations and will bring continental cheese to the marketplace along Royal A-ware’s established routes to market.
Other products produced during the process, including whey and butterfat for cream production, will be brought to market through Tirlán.
In line with seasonal milk production, the facility will be operational for 42 weeks of the year.
Continental Cheese
Gouda
The mild-flavoured popular cheese is named after the Dutch city of Gouda. It has a soft smooth texture.
There are strong markets for this cheese in the Netherlands, Germany, Spain, Belgium, France, Scandinavia, South-East Asia and the Americas.
Edam
Edam cheese is produced using the traditional Dutch recipe and it is well known for its specific smooth and firm texture. Many consumers prefer this cheese at a young age.
It is a very popular cheese in the UK, Spain, Italy, Greece and North Africa.
Emmental
Emmental cheese is produced according to the traditional Swiss recipe. Emmental cheese is ripened anywhere between 42 days to over a year. The cheese is characterised by its large holes and delicate, nutty flavour.
The main export markets for this cheese are France, Belgium, Germany, Spain and Italy.
